Desiree Grace has been in the automation industry for 31 years and is currently the President Americas, for Cembre, Inc. an Italy based manufacturer of electrical connectors, printers, and associated products, ’leading sales and operations for the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Desiree is considered an expert on distribution and has consulted for various companies, as well as having been a featured speaker at Affiliated Distributors, NAED, NAED Women in Industry, Leanin, Midwest Manufacturing Council, and others. She is the 2017 NAED Women in Industry Trailblazer Award Winner and is a former co-host on the WAM (Women and Manufacturing) podcast. Q: What piece of advice would you like to share with other women in automation?

A: Don’t be afraid to be yourself. You don’t have to act like a stereotypical man to be successful in this business. Results are what matter. 
 

Q: How are you and/or your company doing high-tech better?

A: We believe in a positive customer experience—we try to be easy to do business with, we try to make reasonable accommodations, and, in general, leverage technology without forgetting there is a real human being on the other end of the transaction.
