Beijer Electronics Unveils the X3 Series
Beijer Electronics launches the X3 series, its latest innovation in HMI technology. The X3 series marks a new era of open HMI platforms, featuring both Windows-based iX HMIs and Linux-based web panels, and introducing OS3, a modern operating system that delivers a smooth, intuitive experience for configuring and managing device settings.

Versatility and quality at the core
The all-black X3 HMI panels, ranging from 7 to 21 inches, are designed for general manufacturing, marine, and rugged applications, offering a wide range of certifications. The X3 series embodies Beijer Electronics' dedication to quality and ease of use, combining the popular features of the X2 families with exciting new innovations. With Windows-based X3 panels, customers benefit from proven reliability and robustness, qualities that continue to earn their trust and recognition.
OS3, the robust and versatile operating system
X3 offers an open platform, introducing OS3, the operating system for an enriched software experience. When it comes to configuring the HMI, the OS3 operating system ensures a smooth journey. OS3 will support container technologies unlocking new possibilities for software applications.
Fortified cybersecurity for a secure future
Beijer Electronics is committed to IEC 62443 compliance as it continues to enhance the security and reliability of its HMI platform. The X3 series will feature advanced cybersecurity, incorporating sophisticated software, encryption, and protective measures. By balancing openness with robust defenses, it ensures a secure and dependable platform.
A seamless transition with enhanced capabilities
Designed for easy transition, the X3 series maintains identical cut-out sizes and connector types as the current X2 series, minimizing installation adjustments. Projects can be quickly converted into iX3 projects; NuGet simplifies the process for older C# scripts. Even if transitioning from a different manufacturer's HMI, moving to X3 is simple and worth the effort. The recognition and know-how to work with an embedded Window solution, will further elevate an easy transition from older versions on a substantial installed base, to Window’s IoT platform.

New possibilities with iX3 and WebIQ
The X3 series is supported by the upgraded iX3 software tool, featuring an updated user interface and new functions including an extensive list of drivers and an extended ability to customize iX applications/customer projects using C# and NuGet support and community. Users can continue to run iX applications much like in the X2 series.
The WebIQ software enhances options further and is a perfect fit for the X3 web HMIs. WebIQ is built with open web technologies such as OPC-UA, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and supports responsive layouts, so the HMI will work on the machine, the tablet, and the phone.
